burlap is
used as a
backing
for
primitive rug hooking
where the
wool is
cut into
wider
strips.
Monk's
Cloth Backing 60"wide $18.00 per
yard plus

Monk's
cloth comes in
widths of
60 inches
and is a
cotton backing for your hooked rug.
When using
Monk's
cloth it is possible to use
strips of
wool that
are
relatively
wide.
If you
request a rug hooking pattern to
be printed
on monk's
cloth add 50% to the
burlap
pattern
price.

This
rug hooking lap frame will
provide
you with
many years
of use. Around the
top of the
frame you
can see
adjustable
strips of wire mesh grippers. As you
press your
backing
down on the grippers they
hold the backing firmly.
You drape
your piece
over the
four
grippers
and turn
the handle
until it
is taut as
a
drum. Then hook until you
are ready
to move it
and start
again.

frame. One need to
use thumb
tacks
which we
provide
with the
frame.
You
stretch
the
pattern
and push
the
thumbtacks
in to hold
the rug hooking pattern

place.

thumbtacks,
shift the pattern
over and
there you
go
again.
The outer
dimensions
of the top
of the
frame are
16.5
inches by
12.5
inches
(inner
13.5 by
9.5) and
it is
about 8
inches
high from
the
base.
